A new list compiled by Zillow shows what the real estate website says is the most expensive home on the market in each state.
Says Zillow, “We pulled the priciest single-family homes on Zillow – no working ranches or empty parcels – for an apples-to-apples comparison across the country. While some high-end homes aren’t on the MLS and are shown by appointment only, these homes are publicly listed for anyone wanting a virtual tour.”
Representing Georgia is the $48 million home at 4665 Riverview Road, Atlanta.
According to the home’s listing on Zillow:
- Size: 17,776 square feet
- Lot: 18.6 acres
- Price per square foot: $2,700
- Est. mortgage: $177,640/mo
- Standout feature: antique statuary
A Wall Street Journal story on the Atlanta home published in December 2013, said the estate has nearly 500 antiques and pieces of art. The works, which include a Picasso aquatint titled “Fumeur” and an 1885 poster by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, are valued around $14 million, home owner J.K. MacDonald told the paper.
Only six states have a home listed that is more expensive, according to Zillow. Those states are New Hampshire ($49 million), Colorado ($59 million), Connecticut ($65 million), Florida ($139 million), New York ($140 million), and California ($195 million).
